Year of Manufacture: Ca. 2000, Interarms closed in 1998, S&W began manufacturing the pistols under their name in 2002. During the transition, pistols were assembled under the name Walther USA and distributed by Smith & Wesson.
Caliber: .380 ACP (9mm Kurz)
Action Type: Single or Double Action Semi-Auto with 6 Round Removable Magazines
Markings: The left side of the slide is marked with a Walther “Banner” logo over 'MADE IN USA' and “UNDER LICENSE OF / Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. / Modell PPK Cal. 9mm kurz/.380 ACP”. The right side of the frame behind the trigger is marked “5107AAA”. The right side of the slide is marked 'WALTHER USA LLC / SPRINGFIELD, MA.”. The barrel at the port is marked “VA”.
Barrel Length: 3 3 /8”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a low-profile blade fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed into the slide. There is a tiny red dot in the rear face of the front sight and a tiny red square under the square notch in the rear sight, forming a two-dot aiming system for fast sight acquisition. The top of the slide is serrated with a matte finish to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black checkered plastic, marked across the top with a Walther Banner logo on each side. Both panels have light wear marks around the Walther banners at the top and in the smooth borders at the bottom of the grips. The left panel has some light discoloration in spots, likely from the use of an agressive cleaning solvent. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.
Type of Finish: Stainless Steel
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 93% of its metal finish. The slide and frame have a few light marks in the finish with sacttered light freckling in the matte finish on the top of the slide. The markings on the left side of the slide toward the top are faded from polishing The slide, hammer and trigger serrations and the magazine release checkering are sharp. The grip screw is sharp and the markings are clear with the exception of those mentioned. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The double action trigger pull is relatively smooth and the single action pull is crisp. This pistol has a decocker that doubles as a safety. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of two 6-round magazines, one flush-fit and one with finger extension, a factory case with serial-matching end label, a cable lock and a manual. The magazines exhibit only light wear and are in about Fine condition. The case is black plastic marked on the lid with a Walther banner logo. The inside of the case is lined with grey foam. The outside of the case shows a few very light handling marks. The foam lining is compressed in in a few spots from the pistol. The case is in about Fine condition.

Post-war PP and PPK's carry the new eagle over N, indicating that the gun was proofed for nitro or smokeless powder. Post-war PP and PPK's manufactured at Ulm by Walther for commercial sale carry the antler proof mark of the Ulm proof house. The year of the proof test is also indicated i.e. 68 means 1968. Serialnumbers / Year of production: The Walther PPK (Polizei Pistole Kriminal) was produced since 1930. It was developed for a hidden carriage. One piece chequered Bakelit with Walther-banner, black: Serial number: 6-digits number with suffix 'K' right on frame. The right side of the pistol says Walther, Smith & Wesson Houlton ME. I have a pre-war PPK that has a serial number of 240033K, it is a standard size PPK with.

Our Assessment: This is a stainless-steel Model PPK pistol made in the USA under license to Walther and distributed by Smith & Wesson. After WWII, Walther had Manurhin make parts for their PP and PPK pistols that Walther then finished, stamped with the Walther name and assembled. Manurhin also made pistols under their own name for sale in the United States. The Gun Control Act of 1968 created a byzantine 'points system' for importing handguns which the PPK failed, leading to the introduction of the slightly larger PPK/s. In 1978, Walther licensed Interarms to make PP and PPK pistols for them, since the pistol was being made in the US, the standard PPK model was once more available! Interarms closed in 1998, interrupting the US production of these pistols. Smith & Wesson and Walther created Walther USA LLC to produce pistols with the existing parts to be distributed by S&W until Smith & Wesson could get their own PPK production going. This example is in about Fine condition with evidence of polishing on the slide and some freckling on the matte-finished top. This is going to make someone a very nice pistol for concealed carry that can also be used for home protection and even has a little bit of collector value due to being a transitional gun. (Please obtain a tracking number from your carrier for immediate delivery confirmation of payment). If you are in Southern California, you are welcome to pick your item up and complete the transfer at our shop in Simi Valley (M-F, 8-4 and Saturday By Appointment).
This gun can only be shipped to an FFL, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area. Please include a copy of your dealer’s license with payment or faxed/emailed separately. We will need CFLC numbers for CA FFL’s to ship a firearm within California. We are FFL dealers and comply with all Federal, State and Local laws.
We always combine on shipping to save you as much as we can. You can generally assume it will be full shipping charge on the first item, 1/2 on the second, 1/3 on the third, etc. Exceptions only arise when the items are going to different locations (different licenses), or when they are exceptionally large, heavy or valuable and cannot be combined.
Payment:
Full payment on non-layaway items is required within 14 days. We accept Cashier's Checks, Money Orders, Cash, Personal Checks and Cards. Personal Checks are held a full week for clearance. All paper forms of payment already reflect a 3% cash discount. To pay online, please use the 'Pay Now' link at the bottom of the invoice, which will be sent after the sale. To call and pay by phone, please wait until the afternoon on Monday after the sale. If you would like to be notified when we receive your payment, please obtain a tracking number from your carrier.
CA Sales tax applies to CA buyers (7.25%).
Layaways are offered on all items, requiring a 20% non refundable down payment within 7 days of the auction’s close and the balance within 60 days. We do not require prior notice to place an item on the layaway. No returns are accepted on layaway items and the item will be considered abandoned after 60 days.
